Nothing, Nothing, Air, Dust

Glass bottles, oak shelf, ash
Bottles 3'' high
Four three inch high bottles stand in a row across a small oak shelf. From left to right, the first three
bottles appear empty; the last has a pinch of ash at the bottom. The relationship of text on the bottles and shelf is based on a philosophical equation posed by my four year old daughter. She asked simply, "Is God nothing? Are we nothing?" And answered herself, "God is air,
and we're dust."
