1997 Old State House, Hartford, CT.

Two glycerin cast chairs, as emblems of the disciplined body, stand on either side of an antique statue of Blind Justice on the second floor landing of the Old State House in Hartford. On the left hand chair seat rest three wooden nickels; on the right rest two wooden teeth. The wooden nickels refer to ersatz economies of privilege that support inequity before the law, while the two teeth, exacted in exchange for Justice's two blind eyes, suggest the proximity of justice and revenge.
